Factory Droid reports every tool call to its hooks. By default Watchbird shows Droid’s sessions and when it waits for you; with the opt-in gate, commands, file changes and MCP calls wait for your answer in the notch.

How Watchbird connects
Through Factory Droid’s official hook settings: Watchbird adds its entries to ~/.factory/settings.json — after a backup — and removes them again with one click in Settings → Agents. Your own settings and hooks stay as they are.
Set up in three steps
- 01Get Watchbird from the Microsoft Store — the first 15 days are free.
- 02Start it. The setup finds Factory Droid on your PC and connects it with one click.
- 03Start a new Factory Droid session. The notch shows it from the first prompt.
Good to know
- Turn the gate on in Settings → Agents → “Wait for my decision” (it doesn’t apply in spec mode).
- Droid reads its hooks when a session starts — restart running sessions after connecting.
- Watchbird writes to ~/.factory/hooks.json if you use that file, otherwise to settings.json — never to both.
